No pictures yet!
And so once again, it has been a long time between posts. I don't even have any pictures ready but just wanted to let the world know that i am still here...It was an extremely busy summer at our B&B and all over Bar Harbor. I thought I would be posting some things from the summer inn season but that didn't happen...I had some knee problems and so spent most of the summer just trying to get through each day and get my work down. I didn't really get out much, no summer hikes this year although I did manage to ride my bicycle a lot, which didn't seem to bother my knees. I ended up having knee surgery on both knees at the same time for torn meniscus and arthritis, the day after we closed the inn. I am doing fine now, walking again and hoping to try some cross country skiing and snow shoeing, when we get some snow. I also became a grandmother once again, three days after my surgery, so it was a busy October. Now that all that drama is out of my life and I can settle down into the routine that is my winter, I hope to be back at this spot more than every six months, soon with pictures too. Just in case, hope you all have a great holiday....

An innkeepers life got in the way!!!
I had the best intentions at the beginning of May to keep up with this space, but it didn't happen...if any one is actually looking for me, I will be back at the beginning of September, I hope...it has been a crazy, busy summer season so far and I don't seem to have a lot of free time on the computer. Thanks for your' patience...

Mama's Day, 2010
Barry was out of town this year (visiting our son in Chicago) so I got to do anything I wanted to do. Started the day with a nice walk with Gemma and our Sunday morning dog walk group and then came home and washed some new Llama fiber that a friend gave me. I spent the afternoon knitting and then out to dinner with Pennie and her family, our Mothers' Day tradition. The pictures are of the flowers sent to me by my son and my husband, each including one yellow rose for a special vase that Josh had sent to me last year. The card is hand drawn by Pennie and is the first time that she called me Mama instead of Mom (which is a good thing) and of course some pictures of our dinner with the boys being boys...all in all, a wonderful day!

Spinning Road Trip
Two Saturdays ago, a few friends and I went on a short road trip to another friends house in the country...way, way, out in Down East, Maine for some spinning, chatting and eating. I tried to post this before, but I am so new to this and was trying to do something different with this post, I spent one of my last free afternoons, all three hours of it, trying and finally just deleted the entire mess and gave up. Here is another attempt, nothing fancy this time, just some pictures and a few words. We went in two cars, squeezing our wheels in the back of the cars. Everyone brings something to eat, I, as usual, brought chocolate and a lot of spinning and knitting was accomplished. I also thought it would be fun to see all of the different wheels that were being used that day. I only have one more spinning Saturday left before my innkeeper life takes over again, leaving me very little time off for much of anything, although I always make time for the Fiber Frolic in June. I will post more about that when it gets closer. I am also including some pictures of my unfinished projects from this winter, a blanket I am knitting squares for from my home spun for my grand baby, a sweater (probably the last time I will knit with store bought yarn) and some angora rabbit fiber from my sweet bunny Fionna that I am hand carding and blending with some wool...maybe I will work on them a little this summer, if not, it will all be waiting for me in November...

I haven't posted in a while and I seem to have forgotten how...but finally I got some pictures to upload and so, here I am again. This will probably be the end of my fiber life for a while and on to an innkeepers life, since we are getting ready to open back up for the season...I would have shown some before pictures but I really didn't want to show how messy we leave things when we close in October... this first picture I really wanted to post as a "moment" picture on Friday, but I didn't get a chance, so here is a picture of Barry and Gemma walking on our favorite walk, in April, in Maine without a coat or snow in sight...Amazing
I went to visit a friend of mine who has a whole flock of sheep and I thought they looked so neat, all dressed in their colorful winter coats...
I recently had a spindling lesson (again) at a friends house, trying to learn to spindle since it is a lot easier to take a spindle with you than a spinning wheel...but I really do like to spin on my wheel much more than on a spindle...
