Spinning Road Trip

Two Saturdays ago, a few friends and I went on a short road trip to another friends house in the country...way, way, out in Down East, Maine for some spinning, chatting and eating. I tried to post this before, but I am so new to this and was trying to do something different with this post, I spent one of my last free afternoons, all three hours of it, trying and finally just deleted the entire mess and gave up. Here is another attempt, nothing fancy this time, just some pictures and a few words. We went in two cars, squeezing our wheels in the back of the cars. Everyone brings something to eat, I, as usual, brought chocolate and a lot of spinning and knitting was accomplished. I also thought it would be fun to see all of the different wheels that were being used that day. I only have one more spinning Saturday left before my innkeeper life takes over again, leaving me very little time off for much of anything, although I always make time for the Fiber Frolic in June. I will post more about that when it gets closer. I am also including some pictures of my unfinished projects from this winter, a blanket I am knitting squares for from my home spun for my grand baby, a sweater (probably the last time I will knit with store bought yarn) and some angora rabbit fiber from my sweet bunny Fionna that I am hand carding and blending with some wool...maybe I will work on them a little this summer, if not, it will all be waiting for me in November...

I haven't posted in a while and I seem to have forgotten how...but finally I got some pictures to upload and so, here I am again. This will probably be the end of my fiber life for a while and on to an innkeepers life, since we are getting ready to open back up for the season...I would have shown some before pictures but I really didn't want to show how messy we leave things when we close in October... this first picture I really wanted to post as a "moment" picture on Friday, but I didn't get a chance, so here is a picture of Barry and Gemma walking on our favorite walk, in April, in Maine without a coat or snow in sight...Amazing
I went to visit a friend of mine who has a whole flock of sheep and I thought they looked so neat, all dressed in their colorful winter coats...

I recently had a spindling lesson (again) at a friends house, trying to learn to spindle since it is a lot easier to take a spindle with you than a spinning wheel...but I really do like to spin on my wheel much more than on a spindle...
